The Best Snickerdoodle Recipe

Many years ago, I stumbled upon this recipe for snickerdoodles. It quickly turned into a family favorite and per this little family of mine, I make ‘the best snickerdoodles ever’. They’ve done taste comparisons. I swear. Snickerdoodles are serious business around here. When I make them, I get a lot of smiles. Who doesn’t love a good smile from a cute kid?

If you haven’t had the pleasure of tasting a snickerdoodle cookie, you must make these. Now. They are a simple cookie base rolled in cinnamon and sugar before baking.

This recipe is super easy and a crowd pleaser.

Snickerdoodles

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Mix butter, sugar, and eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in a mixture of 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes in 400 degree oven.
Let cool slightly, pour a glass of milk and indulge.

Gabby
