Friday Favorite – Summer Cocktails

Hey friends! I am already almost 1 week back on the mainland and boy do I miss Hawaii already. We have now been to two islands – Maui and now Kaiui. Both are amazing and offer different things. I’d be happy to go back to both! I will be working on another post soon about our trip. One of my biggest takeaways? Not doing my hair. Ha ha! It’s been a let it be natural, throw it in a pony or bun kinda mentality around here. It’s so much easier but not quite as cute but hey, we are creeping towards the 100-degree mark today and I just can’t even deal, ya know?

One of my most favorite things on vacation – and in the dog days of summer is cocktails. I love an ice cold beer or a glass of wine but whipping up a refreshing cocktail using seasonal fruits and juices is really the best. It’s been a while since I’ve shared a Friday Favorites and this seemed like a perfect edition.

#1 – Blueberry Mojitos – mojitos alone are so refreshing but if you use mint straight from your garden and seasonal blueberries, BOOM! You’ve got a great cocktail with the added antioxidants of fresh blueberries. #gethealthy

#2 – Summer Sangria with Watermelon + Pineapple – Both of these are some of my favorite summer fruits and throwing them together in a sangria sounds delish. Sangrias are such a great way to throw together a cocktail for a crowd too.

#3 – Summer Vodka + Mint Lemonade – Summer just wouldn’t be right without lemonade, am I right? Plus again, fresh mint and berries just make it that much better.

#4 – Strawberry Basil Moscow Mules – Moscow Mules are so trendy and oh so refreshing. Another yummy version of this is the Kentucky Mule which is made with bourbon instead of vodka. This version is made with blackberry + sage.

#5 – Fresh Peach Gin + Tonic – Gin and tonics are one of my go-to classic cocktails. I love the simplicity of it. It’s a light cocktail and you just can’t go wrong with fresh lime juice. Since peaches are in season, I’d love to try this version.
