Friday Favorites – Winter Edition

Hey friends! The temps have dropped and even on the sunny days, it’s a little chilly outside. I thought it would be fun to round up some of my winter favorites to share with you. First, I have a question for you, what’s your favorite season? If you know me, then you know that mine is Fall.  I don’t like to be too hot or too cold. I know, I sound like Goldilocks over here.

Some of my favorite things about the winter are: brisk morning walks (I love fresh air), the feel of soft clothes on my skin, wrapping myself in a blanket and reading a good book, finding a good show to binge, the comfort foods of the season, a nice glass of Zinfandel (I don’t normally do red wines but I do love Rombauer Zinfandel in the cold months), a perfectly scented candle and the occasional rainy day. I don’t like too many days of clouds though. I need sunshine in my life. #californiagirl

Friday Favorites – Winter Edition ♥

  1. It’s not only cold which is optimal tea weather but tea is also the go to beverage if you’ve got a cold. I love this little tea caddy and how it looks like a cute bit of decor yet it’s functional too. If I was more of a tea drinker, I’d definitely scoop up this electric tea kettle.
  2. Maybe you are not into the tea thing. Coffee is a popular thing around this house. I am not a fan of hot coffee but my hubby uses this espresso maker to brew his coffee every day. He also likes to grind his own coffee beans using this grinder. I’m a cheater and buy the Stok Cold Brew at my local grocery store.
  3. Winter is a great time to stay inside and play games. My husband discovered this one and it’s become a favorite. We even bought it for my sister-in-law. We also discovered that it’s a great game to teach littles how to count and identify numbers. This of course happened when my 4 year-old nieces were visiting us and wanted to ‘play’.
  4. I love chunky turtleneck sweaters as they keep me extra warm on the coldest days. I love this one so much that I bought it in grey and black.
  5. Barefoot Dreams is one of the coziest brands around and this blanket is the best for snuggling on the coach and reading a good book. I love to read all year round and I just shared what I read in 2021 here. One of my favorites was this book and I also really enjoyed this one.
  6. These boots are great for rainy day errands. I’ve had mine for a few years now and then are comfortable and come in an array of designs and colors.
  7. I’m a big fan of layering and this vest is so perfect! It’s lined and adds a layer of warmth to all things. I paused on buying it and then I just kept thinking about it until it ended up in my closet.
  8. I’m an avid walker and I love getting outside in the mornings, even if the temps are extra chilly. I love a good beanie to help keep me warm. These are lightweight but do the job. This is also a fun option with a little more flair.
  9. These fleece lined pants get me through the coldest of days. I have them in 4 colors and they are on constant rotation throughout the winter. I’ve worn them for a few years now and they always keep me warm when I’m walking.
  10. A couple of the guys in my house have this jacket. My oldest son does landscape work and it’s a great work jacket.

So tell me, do you have something that brings you joy during the cold winter months?

Have a beautiful weekend.
