Friday Favorites – Spring Fashion Finds

Hey friends! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Friday Favorites but I’m back!  As Joey would say, “How you doin?” I thought that I’d change it up this week and do a Spring Fashion Finds edition. My closet feels like it needs a major overall. I wish a clothing fairy would come in and put together cute outfits using what I have and get rid of the old stuff that really doesn’t work anymore. I need to have my Stitch Fix friend, Ryann come over and help a sister out. Ryann, can you hear me?

#1 – This fun online company called Cloth & Cabin has a mix of housewares and clothing/jewelry!  It hasa bit of an Anthropologie vibe. It’s a bit of a one-stop shop. I am digging this fun chunky bracelet. I’d love it for myself but it would also be awesome to stockpile for birthday gifts.

#2 – Megan at Honey We’re Home is the cutest lil fashion blogger. I love seeing what she puts together and wishing she was my best friend and could dress me as cute as she does herself 😉 I have two pairs of the cute Sam Edelman sandals she shows below but now I think I need this pair too! The pattern is so fun.

#3 – I picked up these Steve Madden wedges on super clearance at DSW about a month ago. I haven’t worn them yet but I am already envisioning them with a cute dress and denim jacket for date night. Check out a similar pair here.

#4 – Kut from the Kloth are my favorite brand of jeans. They just get me, you know? When I get a pair, I wear them down to nothing. Seriously. I wear a lot of capris/ankle skimmers in the spring/summer/fall months and this pair, with a cute zipper at the ankle, is the perfect cut for some cute strappy sandals and a flowy tank top.

#5 – I just got this cute little Plant Lady t-shirt at Magnolia. I love the fit and I am all about the plants in the spring and summer months. Of course, I can channel my inner Joanna and wear it with my Birkenstocks which were a splurge last summer. I love them SO much. Funny story? My dad wore then when I was growing up and I thought they were so ugly – fast forward to me around the same age that my dad was when he was wearing them. Goes to show that fashion comes back around eh?

I hope you enjoyed this weeks edition of Friday Faves – it felt like a fun time to change it up since this week brought is the first official day of spring and for a lot of us, that means infusing some new stuff into our wardrobe. I am being pulled towards olive green this season. I picked up these cute sandals in olive and this cute shirt as well as this awesome chunky sweater which is perfect for layering.

I’ve gone back and forth on the whole capsule closet concept. I love the idea of simplifying my closet and wardrobe. Have you heard of a capsule wardrobe? You basically pick 15-20 key pieces and mix them up to create a series of outfits. This is supposed to simplify your life cause fewer options means less stress, right? This means I need to really downsize my closet. After last weeks frantic search for something cute to wear to a blogger mixer, I almost threw everything out. I calmed down, found an outfit and then bought a few new pieces for easy mixing and matching. I still see a big purge and Goodwill drop off in my near future. So now I challenge you to get rid of one bag of clothing this week. Go through and pull the outdated, the sizes that don’t fit, things you haven’t worn in over a year. You’ve got this. Oh, why’ll your at it, go pick up a pretty bouquet of flowers to celebrate the start of spring. Trader Joe’s always has beautiful flowers at great prices.
