How To Get Organized Using A Command Center

Hey friends! Now that Christmas has come down and we are starting off the new year fresh, I am thinking about all the ways to get organized in 2018. I seriously love organizing. And decor. And long walks on the beach. And carbs. Wait, I just got distracted, didn’t I? 😉 Anyway, back to organizing. I love the idea of using a command center to get organized. It gives you a way to keep all of the stuff that you need and use the most in one spot. Command centers are a great space for homework, paying the bills and of course, all the computer related ‘stuff’.

A few suggestions of what should live in your command center:

  • A calendar {dry erase, paper, etc}
  • Magnet board
  • Chalkboard
  • Charging stations
  • Pens/Pencils
  • File organizers
  • Clipboards
  • Kids school calendars {to keep track of those odd minimum days}
  • Shift calendars {firefighter wife over here!}

My personal office space. I have a funky litle window that casts some weird shadows.

I love this closet turned command center at The Happy Housie. She really maximized a small space and made it an effective spot for corraling all the stuff.

This command center is kinda fabulous, don’t you think? I found it via Instagram at White Oak Shop.

Hobby Lobby is one of my favorite places to get organizing goodies. They have so many great baskets, trays and even wall storage. This command center utilizes the entryway so it’s not exactly a work zone but it would certainly help you organize things with baskets and a calendar + to do list via the chalkboard.

Sarah Rosemary utilized a small space outside of kitchen to keep track of things. The added chalkboards are a great way to write quick notes or lists.

Shanty 2 Chic always rocks the design and they give you step by steps on how to build stuff which is great for those of us that don’t know how {I’m pointing at myself over here}.

The Small Things utilized a space above her sideboard to gather all the things. It came together pretty awesome I think! I really like that she added, “call Ghostbusters” to her list. Ha ha!! I am pretty impressed by a good sense of humor.

At Charlotte’s House used a space in her kitchen which of course is command central, am I right?

Using chalkboard paint on the wall is a creative way to allow yourself to erase the old and start fresh with a new week. Houseful of Homemade used her hallway to create this space.

Just The Bees Knees {now Interiors by Sarah Langrty} has the sweetest little command center. I love how she pulled in the word BE and made it a bit of a positive affirmation wall.

This industrial farmhouse command center at Lovely, Etc. has me all googly eyed. I tried to find those fun metal letters but I didn’t have any luck.

I hope that I have inspired you with some of these creative command stations. Do you have a system that corrals all of your stuff? We use our fridge and the inside of our pantry cabinets to keep track of every day + school schedules but as you can see above, I do have an office that serves as command central too. So, let’s get organized friends! It’s a fresh year, Christmas is put away {for most of us} and I think that many of us have also started purging things that don’t serve us. At least, based on my trip to Goodwill yesterday, everyone in town had brought loads of stuff cause they were almost at capacity. Wow. That is so much unused and unloved stuff. I hope most of it finds a new home.

Have a beautiful day.
