10 Ways To Use Galvanized Decor In Your Home

Hey friends! I am googly-eyed over all things galvanized. Vintage metal has appealed to me since the days of staying at my grandparents’ ranch. Old tin roof? Yes!  The house had a tin roof as did the barn and both of these were design elements that I loved. Without even knowing what design was or how much I’d love it in the years to come. Obviously with the farmhouse decorating phenomenon, galvanized metal has become a huge trend. That means that it is also widely available to purchase.

I have incorporated it into my own home decor in frames, trays, lanterns, planters. If it’s galvanized, I have likely thought about buying it! Or I have bought it. Don’t tell my husband. Maybe he won’t notice.

What does it mean if something is galvanized?

Galvanization (or galvanizing as it is most commonly called in that industry) is the process of applying a protective zinc coating to steel or iron, to prevent rusting. The most common method is hot-dip galvanizing, in which parts are submerged in a bath of molten zinc.

So there you have it. Let’s check out some of my favorite galvanized pieces and where you can find them.
