The Best Hostess Gifts
Hey friends! November is upon us and that means that the holiday madness has begun! We are officially in the season of decorating, lots of food + drinking and of course, endless parties. I always show up at an event with a little hostess gift. Wine, flowers and candles are totally acceptable {and I love to receive all of the above!} but I like to be a little more creative so I have put together a few gift ideas to share with you!
I created these little hostess gifts and will keep them on hand for an easy grab and go gift for upcoming parties. I love being ahead of the season a bit. It takes away some of the stress that comes with this busy time of year.
wooden spoon + kitchen towel = $2
I found these goodies at IKEA. The spoons were $1/each and the towels came in a 4 pack/$3.99 I added a piece of twine and a bit of greenery from my yard. Some rosemary would be lovely but I didn’t have any on hand when I created this gift. You could also add a jar of premade cookie mix if you wanted to add a little somethin’ extra. People love sugar. OK, I love sugar 😉
soap + soap dish +dish towel = $11
Target Dollar Spot strikes again! I love this checkered dish towel. I also added a cute bar of soap and soap dish from World Market. They have some of the best gifts. World Market also has great stocking stuffers.
vintage tin + hand towel + soap + lotion + ornament = $12
I also put together this little vintage tin {$1 at a local antique store} gift set. I picked up hand soap + lotion at Marshall’s. Have you tried Deep Steep? Their stuff smells so good. The towel was a clearance find at Target and I added in this cute kraft paper reindeer that I bought at WalMart. They came in a pack of 4/$3. They will make a cute addition to hostess gifts or I can use them as a gift topper.
cheese platter + knife = $10
I scooped up this Rae Dunn cheese tray and knife for $10 at Marshall’s. Have you heard of Rae Dunn? Her stuff is hot.hot.hot. It hits the store and is immediately bought up. People hunt it. Yes, seriously!
bowl + Kettle Corn = $10
Rae Dunn is obviously a thing around here. I have lots of her mugs, a coffee canister and even a spread tray for my butter, and I recently scooped up some dog bowls. Yes, dog bowls. They have cute little sayings like, ‘CHOW DOWN‘ and are fab for serving up things like Kettle or caramel corn.
dish towels + star nesting dishes = $6
The Target Dollar Spot is one of my favorite places evah! I love all of the fun little gifty finds and the seasonal decor is always so good! It’s also pretty great for goodie bag treats and prizes for kids parties. Those days are long gone for me but I used to grab stuff all the time when my kids were little. I love this cute towel set and the star nesting dishes.
I have found a few other original hostess gift ideas to share with you.
These Mason jar succulents are fun and the girls at Eighteen25 have created the gift tags to add to the gift.
I love this flavored whipped butter at Make It & Love It. Free labels are included! Of course, you can add a yummy loaf of bread from your favorite bakery.
I love the simplicity of this basket from Julie Banner. Of course, you could change it up and use all seasonal items as well {seasonal towels, soap and rosemary is a great herb for the season}.
I love these gift tags over at Lil Luna. Making a load of freshly baked bread is always a well-received gift. I love this Snickerdoodle Pumpkin Bread.
Who doesn’t love a yummy smelling home? This holiday simmer at Evermine is the perfect homemade gift without any calories!
These handmade candles at Live Simply are so pretty. If you don’t have time to make your own, how about adding a spring of rosemary with a simple bow to dress up an otherwise plain candle?
Wouldn’t this cinnamon honey butter over at The Food Charlatan make the best sweet treat on your morning toast?
Can you tell that I have a thing for gifts that smell or taste good? Ha! I really love this time of year, Yes, it’s busy and almost chaotic at times but I love the happiness that comes with the season. I love spending time with family and friends. Everything feels extra cozy and magical. Do you have a go-to hostess gift?
How clever! Thank you for adding such a personal touch! x
Thank you Kim 🙂
Do you use any of the above? x
Hello ! I was wondering if you were going to be putting up more ideas for Christmas decorations etc? I am running out of ideas. HELP! x
Hi Kim. I don’t know that I will be able to share my decor in a post as getting the pics is a challenge with my lighting on most days – although there are snippets of it on Instagram 🙂 I am working on a post about some fun decor that I have spotted. I also have a board on Pinterest with all of my faves. Have a fab day!
