How I Organize My Week

Weekends are only 2 short and very fast days. Like the fastest two days of the week, am I right?

I like to go into my Monday feeling a bit ahead of the game, or at least, caught up. I am a creature of habit and I have had the same routine {for the most part}, for years.

Typically, I work part time but during tax season, I become a full-time employee. This is the time of year where kicking off my Monday feeling organized becomes more important than ever. I know a lot of us can relate to the weekday hustle and bustle and how easy it is to feel like we can’t possibly squeeze in any more ‘stuff’. This is where getting organized comes in handy.

How I organize my week:

  • Clean the house. Some weeks will be more thorough than others. Tackle only the surface if that’s what you have time for. Wipe down bathrooms, sweep & vacuum floors and wipe off counters.
  • Make the meal plan. I love using this to make my grocery list and I write out the actual meals I will make on the back. Psst, I just found these at Marshall’s for $2.99.
  • Do the grocery shopping.
  • Get your food prepped {this is a game changer if you can get your prep and even a couple of meals assembled ahead of the week}. I love popping an already made casserole into the oven on a busy weeknight. Check out my post on my top 5 go-to weeknight meals here.
  • Do the laundry. People need clean clothes and it’s so much better to have things cleaned, folded and put away for easy access on a busy morning. None of that trying to get those jeans you want to dry at the last minute. Tip: Fold EVERYTHING before it leaves the laundry room. This is a game changer around here.

Bonus: squeeze in little tasks over the week {throw in a load of laundry every evening, sort your mail, write out your planner, meal plan, pick your outfits, etc}

Extra bonus: Recruiting your people {spouse, kids, roommates, etc.} to help you get the stuff done! I like to call this ‘project management‘. My family just tells me that I am bossy but whatever. If being bossy helps get stuff done, then I will happily own that title.

Being organized is a great way to feel accomplished and sets the tone for a less stressful and more organized week. How do you get ahead of your week? I’d love to hear your tips.

Gabby
